Kayak New Mexico, Inc. is a volunteer-run non profit organization recognized by the IRS under Section 501(c)(3). All contributions are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.
Our Vision:
We believe Adaptive Kayaking will transform lives, not just through recreation, but through paradigm shifts of what an individual believes is possible, through quality of life, and through health and wellness, while proving to themselves and others that their identity is not related to their abilities. We believe if we can help individuals mentally, the physical, social, and emotional well-being will soon follow.
Our Values:
Kayak New Mexico values inclusive programming, developing independence through broader community involvement, and helping individuals with special needs find purpose through mentorship and community service. We take people out of wheelchairs and take them places where roads and trails don’t go. We help people with developmental special needs learn valuable problem solving, motor planning, social, and communication skills. We help people fighting cancer overcome fear, while developing physical and emotional strength to continue their battle. We help Healing Veterans find serenity and purpose in environments where PTSD, anxiety, and depression cannot compete. Above all, we restore human connection with those most in need.
